Something For Everyone – Charlotte Newman, Chairperson

The Something for Everyone Group which is a part of Adult Ministries is very active.  We love to visit different places and enjoy God’s wonderful creation.  We also have activities at the church throughout the year to enjoy fellowship and food together. Everyone is welcome!

 

EVENTS FOR 2017

Spring Trip, April 24 – 27 – Trip to Brookgreen Gardens, near Murrel’s Inlet, South Carolina. Other highlights of this trip include a 1 hour stop on the way at The Cove, the Billy Graham Training Center.  Here we will visit Eckerd Seminar Room and the Pictorial Display Prayer Room. This is not to be confused with the Billy Graham Museum in Charlotte.  We will spend one night at Surfside Beach and eat dinner at Crabby Mike’s.  We will visit Boone Hall Plantation, Mt. Pleasant, SC.  We will visit the Boone Hall Farmer’s Market and enjoy lunch at the Market Café.  This is a working farm.  We will take an open air coach for a 40 minute ride of the 738 acre farm.  You can also enjoy the 30 minute tour of the mansion.

Wednesday, August 2,   “Happy Days”

Plan to join us as we celebrate the 70’s by watching Richey Cunningham and all the gang in an episode of Happy Days.

 

Tuesday, September 19, Trip to Merceir’s in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Several varieties of apples are available in September.  This is a favorite trip of many.  Mark your calendar and plan to join us.

 

October 9 – 13 – Trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Highlights of this trip include a meal at Lambert’s Throwed Rolls in Sikeston, Mo., The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, a visit to Thorncrown Chapel, and a tour of the historical district in Eureka Springs.  On the way home, we will enjoy a visit to Patti’s 1880’s Settlement in Grand River, Kentucky.  We will have dinner at Miss Patti’s restaurant where you can enjoy 2” thick pork chops followed by mile-high meringue pie for dessert.  Other selections are available.

 

November – Trip to Pigeon Forge to see Smokey Mountain Opry Christmas Show. Date and time TBA.

 

Wednesday, December 6 Christmas Greetings – The program will be a slide show of the year’s activities.

 

Remember, on all trips, the cost of gas is divided equally and paid at the end of the trip. The bus drivers do not pay for gas.

 

All overnight trips will be limited to 22 people. This is due to weight constraints for the bus.

 

Day trips are available for up to 40 people.

 

This year the church events are scheduled on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.
